I’m very proud to introduce Math Is Hard’s first property, The Remakers Mark Podcast. The idea for this has been in the back of my mind for a long time, but finally crystallized in this format in the last few months. It’s very common for me, while watching a favorite movie or reading a book, to imagine who could inhabit a character, as well as think about what other changes could be made to adapt it to today’s world. These are the exact types of discussions we’ll be having about some of our favorites, and hopefully your favorites as well. Remakers Mark will be published twice a month, with an occasional bonus episode thrown in for fun. Every movie we discuss will be split into two episodes. The first episode will introduce the film and discuss how we would recast both major characters and minor characters alike. The second episode will begin with the reveal of who we collectively picked as the winner for each major character, as well as which of the panelists had the best picks overall. That person is then rewarded by getting to choose the next movie we will be discussing. We will also discuss plot and filmmaking changes we’d consider, and how technology would affect the remake, both in terms of moviemaking (CG especially), and in terms of the existence of tech in today’s world. With Remakers Mark, I’m very happy to be working with some of my favorite people in the world (and some of the biggest movie dorks). I know that you’ll come to know and love Andy Wicks, Jeremy Nilson, Lee Hochstein, and Mark Joesting just like I do. While we all have a lot in common, we each have our own specific passions, and interests, and I can’t wait to hear what we each bring to the discussion. I hope you enjoy listening to Remakers Mark as much as we enjoy making it. Please let us know if you have any questions, or feedback on the show or our picks. Thanks for your time, and enjoy the show!
